Small patch of healthy coneflowers.

This particular species seems to be abundant this year near maize and predominantly-green plants.

White and black wasp atop red flowers. I was drawn to the "smile face" on their back.

Clusters of Large Milkweed Bugs (Adults with their fully-developed patterns) surrounding common milkweed pods. There are a few stray nymphs in some of the pictures due to the close proximity.

These nymphs had two large dots followed by three small dots. They were surrounded by large Milkweed Bug adults. (Observed in separate post.)

Perched near a fallen log. Rather calm and not bothered by people.

Very large, very unhappy Rinkhals. Removed from a small holding with 17 dogs, and released a ways down the road.

Skipper observed on a cutleaf teasel.

Green caterpillar with yellow belly and black stripes. Has a black spike on rear. Relocated off trail using a leaf.

Top of antenna has white spots. Wings have white and black spots.
