Feathers were scattered around the parking lot, not certain that they all belong together.

“Latrine” (of sorts). Pile of accumulated mistletoe berry scat just below high perch in mesquite tree. 2 such piles found in the area.

I'm guessing on this. Red-tail was the best match I could find browsing through the feather atlas.

Birds followed by the tracks they left behind.

Sign: Tracks California towhees seen within 30 meters of tracks.

Although I cannot be completely certain of this ID, the tracks are quite large and I did flush a red-tailed hawk from the ground elsewhere in this area.

Bobcat kills cottontail then carries is down the road a little an then exits to enjoy its meal.

While NOFL not observed at this exact spot they have been observed throughout the park in high numbers recently, including the day of observation.

Smashed and deeply hammered out with a bill. A rodent would leave chatter marks from teeth around the edges of the opening.

DIY track trap made with local clay, an aluminum pan and water. Set out next to our compost area.

M. californicus is the only Vole species known from this area.

My first thought was blue jay, but maybe a type of woodpecker?

No idea, so downy and small but I found it very pretty.

I watched this grackle make these tracks.
