Two chicks have hatched on day twelve! The male flew in and gave her what I believe is either a caterpillar or a bee, and she proceeded to crush it up and feed it to the chicks. I also believe there are only two eggs in the nest due to the small size of the top of our lamp. I would stick my camera up there on a pole to see but I don't want to scare off the parents.

This pair was the subject of an earlier observation. They now have at least three offspring in the nesting box.
They are feeding thrm worms, caterpillars moths and magnolia seeds. I have lived next to this park for 20 years and this is the first time I've seen bluebirds.

White Rock lake, Sunset Bay, right in front of the pier.
Behavior series of the willet eating a bee. I had not realized there were bees crawling around there. After it caught the bee, it walked around a little bit looking for a good place to eat breakfast.
On photo 4: Difficult to capture that toss that a lot of birds seem to do before gulping their food. Check out the bottom right where another insect felt it was in its best interest to fly away.
On photo 5: making sure it went down the gullet.
