i count 77 in this one migrating flock alone, and there were other such large flocks passing overhead. Amazing. I remember when I first moved to this area of northern Ontario more than 30 years ago, it was a relatively rare event to see a Sandhill Crane now they are very common, both residents and migrants.

Got very good views of this American Bittern, as it caught Bullfrog tadpoles (#2), and after a few minutes of seeing this bird, it flew away later to land right in front of my brother Jackson (#5) and at one point after he/she caught a tadpole it shook it head making it all puffed up(#1)!

easily the most memorable mammal encounter I've had in Ontario. It crossed the road in front of me, and I was able to stop and observe the lynx for a couple of minutes before a transport truck drove past, flushing it back into the forest

The first time I had ever seen this, i videoed the entire event as well from entry to exit. It was as if this species swims all the time. I sent it to a frogmouth expert and she had never seen that before. The bird chose to swim and flew away very easily after its swim. There appeared to be no explanation for the bird swimming as it was not particularly hot or anything unusual.

@rsalinas2370 @ericisley and I were out this morning to photograph dragonflies when we came across about a 3 and a half foot long Western Diamondback. The snake was in very thick and deep grass but we wanted to get a shot or two of it. Robert went back to my vehicle to get a snake hook while I tried to keep the snake in one area. We then moved the snake into a more open area for a few shots. One of the images shows Eric keeping the snake out in the open temporarily. By the way, all of us were wearing knee high snake boots as we usually do in our area. After a few shots we let the snake go on its way and we went on our way.

Young whale shark threatened to strand at Swimming Beach Cannon Rocks. A number of people tried for about 2 hrs to get it to swim back out to sea. Eventually they achieved success and it was not observed or reported again. It was approx 2-3 m in length. Reported to Bayworld Port Elizabeth.
