(Blaise.byrd on instagram for more information)
A Leucistic phase of Buteo jamaicensis. It remained in the same area for two months then disappeared.
In the excitement of getting a herp lifer I was a fool and didn't get a photo before trying to grab the critter. It escaped my grasp and dove into the underbrush. I'm so sad. But supposedly field sketches are allowed so here's mine.
There was a copperhead on the practice field during band practice. I didn't have anything else on hand, so it was moved to the woods with my flute like pictured. Very calm and cooperative lil guy
Softy's looking extra cute today!💛
Was chasing a chicken but got stuck /was grabbing on to a fence! It was able to fly away later.
Buff color phase.
The frog was blue. I did not alter the color in the photos.
Green Heron with leucism/albinism.
Leucistic mockingbird fledglings?
Snapping Turtle came out of the water onto the small island in the center of the pond, took a Canada Goose egg, and then went back in the water. The whole thing was over and done with in about two minutes. The Geese were not too happy.
This is a adult male fence lizard, was rescued 3 years ago as a juvenile, he still hangs around the house. He has a distinct bright golden color which I have never seen before! Never as vibrant as this. I do not interact with him and his colors are all natural! No pollen or spores, he keeps this color year round.
Found this lil one which I have never seen a color morph like this for a Mud snake. I determined it to be one based off the visual/physical features such as the “tail spine”, pattern, head/eye shape, as well as a divided anal plate.

Oddball Turtle
I thought maybe this was a hybrid but the experts told me it is a regular red-eared slider that has aberrant coloration on the ears, more yellow than red.
