I thought this was a plastic bag and began to stuff it in my pocket. When I picked it up I realized it wasn't plastic.

This was considered a Reniera in the 1975 edition of Light's Manual. It has no known nudibranch predator. As seen here moving from the side to underside of a boulder, this sponge grades from lavender-colored in light to gray-tan in shaded habitat.

False cowrie, Pusula solandri (formerly Trivia solandri), about 15 mm total length. Found crawling on the side of a cobble in a tidepool at Naples Point, Santa Barbara Co. Here, the distinctively ribbed shell is covered by the fleshy tuberculate mantle.

Only about 1/2" long so at the extreme end of my camera's abilities, which is a shame because this polychaete was sooo cool. Red eyes, striped body, and long 'tentacles' that curled and clenched. Originally found on drift kelp, but those photos were truly awful. Bad but intriguing video: https://flic.kr/p/NrAS8H
