Black Mesa Trail.
This hatchling was found on the edge of a paved roadway under cool conditions, 60° F with light cloud cover. It was measured, identified as a male, and released. A note has been submitted to The Southwestern Naturalist for review. The last documented record in Oklahoma for this species was in 1990.

This snake, actually formally known as a Red Milksnake, Lampropeltis triangulum syspila, was found under a limestone rock, along a road cut in NE Wilson county, KS
I did not kill this snake. I am confused as to what it could be because you can see very faint patterning on its back. I thought it could be a some kind of weird rat snake morph but I'm not sure.
