These round nodes were on nearly every leaf of this oak tree and covered the forest floor below the tree.
This is the 2nd sighting of these nodes. I found some on the ground elsewhere in the woods and thought it was a strange plant. But didn't have my camera.
Found covering the deck overlooking Gorge dam. Philonix nigra (oak leaf galls) look like soft cherry seeds. Aparently not in database. http://bugguide.net/node/view/494705
