Big and Furry! Girls better watch out!
This morning was the first clear, bright morning after several cold, rainy days -the pair of full size Loquat trees on the block that had their buds on slow/hold before, had now burst into masses of nectar-filled flowers and were buzzing with several hundred bees as well as a number of Audubon’s (warblers, and 5 or 6 Allen’s hummingbirds constantly jockeying to claim dominion.
In addition, I saw one of our resident-on-this-block CA Brown towhees drop in and run under adjacent shrubs.
It was so busy, I thought it seemed a bit like if the only Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks in town had just reopened!

Warm day, temps in the 70's, and this guy came out to forage on Mistflowers.
Ignore the Crab Spider that appears in some of the photos with the bee.
