Coughed up by a surprisingly small slimy mackerel. Just visible in the mouth of the host in the last image.
Small, under 10mm, swimming in shallows and deeper water at night
Unfortunately I accidentally deleted the top view of this, it was a good swimmer
Some on lions mane jellyfish. I think I also saw some on the juvenile jacks which swam around the jellies.
Not confident on many of these shells especially surf clams. If someone knows a good online guide that explains differences between similar ones, that would be awesome.
Found in gills of butterfish/greenbone (Odax pullus) caught by spearfishing. Fish had yellowed flesh internally in places (compared to uniform white of individual speared on the same day without them) and gills were pale. unknown if yellowed flesh related to presence of organisms.
Location aprroximate.
Host: 51cm Snapper caught in 51.8 meters of water. Only noticed it frozen back on land
