Drosophila suzukii?
Found on Phytolacca americana.
~2-3.5mm body length. On Stereum fruiting body on oak snag. Active. Air temperature about 60°F
Vinegar flies were always present in my worm farm and sometimes in my compost bin. Many of these larvae were found stuck to the sides of my vegetable recycling bin.
Photos taken while they were still inside the bin.
Pitfall trap baited with dead frog. Noticeably large for a Drosophilid (nearly 5 mm long excluding wings.) White markings are hard to see in these photos but hopefully they'll show up more strongly after I dry the specimen.
