¿Cómo se llama? Es venenosa?
Teeth? Coral body? Found at an old human settlement site, along with fragments of pottery, shells, fossilized coral.
this large solifugid was clinging to a gloss painted cupboard door in a head-down orientation, gravity rather than defensive aggression was probably at work on the abdomen (first 2 photos), once it had reversed direction it appeared to be less uncomfortable although the head was raised a little, the fellow was assisted to a nearby window sill.
A number of large and small solifugids have been entering the house after dark this past 2 weeks, after a prolonged hot, dry spell thundery weather is now brewing.
fairly large solifugid running around the floor in the evening, (the squares on the paper are 6 x 6 mm), kept overnight for photoshoot and to keep it away from my young dog who has unfortunately taken to hunting them; bright light and strong shadows make flagella easier to see (zoom in on photo 3), I'd be interested to discover what those little white structures are projecting from the side of the abdomen (see photo 4)
small solifugid with relatively massive [antennae] EDIT make that FRONT LEGS (see Tony's comment below) . . . . EDIT mark 2 make that PEDIPALPS (see Will's comment below), and quite conservative jaws. I'm guessing the 4th pr of legs are represented by / hidden by those leafy, white Malleoli (as referred to by Tony http://www.ispotnature.org/node/741874#comment-378248 )
running on ground at night. Attracted to uv or the insects that accumulated at uv
