This was a surprise… Seen while snorkeling in the headwaters of the San Marcos River. I originally thought it was an aberrant colored tilapia as it was associating with a school of them, but quickly realized it was another species of African cichlid. I believe I have the right species but feel free to correct me. M. estherae is relatively common in the aquarium trade where this individual obviously originated from.
