This grows by the high tide mark, in the teeth of the wind. It never grows into a tree, but crawls over a rock. It is trimmed by the salt wind. Could the ID be correct? The twig gives a milky sap when broken. There are more in the area.
In agapanthus flower head . Caused it to brown and not open .
