Green woodpecker with red rump, male with red cap.Saw her first most intently busy on an old and nearly dead Protea tree. He appeared from lower down on another trunk with a huge white grub (thumb size) No way was he going to share nor be photographed with his mouth full. When she finally moved off a short distance I poked my camera around the trunk and took a pic or two. Only when I was home did I realise what she had been so busy doing!
