Leucistic American Robin

A very exciting find! I do not believe I’ve ever seen a wild animal with leucism before so I am quite excited about this. Apparently about one out of every 30,000 robins has it. Leucism is more common in birds compared to albinism.
leucism: “ the partial loss of all types of pigmentation, including carotenoids.” (via nps.gov).
This bird in particular has been hanging around near my home. It still has the main defining features of a Robin like its dark head, white around the eyes, yellow beak, and a patch of orange on its belly.
