The snake that brought out part of the fire department. 😂 I insisted they wait until I got there and could secure the snake. Released safely. No one injured.

Not a good photo and I welcome other suggestions. This house typically sees southern brown eggeaters but it might also be a water snake. Thoughts? Unfortunately no other photos available and she said it went off when she tried to get a better photo.

We had some cold weather and I wasn't expecting many calls. The community member who phoned said that this one had been around for some days. A little high but I was able to get it and then release safely elsewhere.

Finally, the suspected mfezi came out of the drainpipe and into the house which made it easier. Snake advocates in Melmoth helped keep the family calm and watched the snake until I arrived. The drive was more dangerous than catching the snake. No spitting but obviously grumpy. I released in a safer area nearby.

Person requesting ID, his neighbor killed it before he knew what was happening. We have a lot of work to do in Melmoth but are making plans.
