These protostomes were hard to capture because of the swift and erratic nature of their small bodies so the pictures may’ve come out blurry. The ants may seem to appear black but up close their bodies are dark red with black bottoms. They were found near a pond which felt like quite a humid area.

This is a type of fungi that was found on a fallen branch in a humid environment within an urban area. It has a green tint and shape that is very similar to the common greenshield lichen which has led me to believe they are a match. Another observation was that the lichen was about 2.5 inches long in length and has a texture that can be described as flaky.

This moss was found on a tree stump by a pond, so the area was damp and there was some moisture along the base of the tree as well. The moss appears mostly a mint green and is dark green in other spots. The patch of moss was about 6-8 inches long and appeared fuzzy in texture.

This was found by an entrance of a forest, and the weather was mostly humid and hot. There was a pond near the entrance of the forest as well so the soil and grass were damp. The flower has one white, uniform, circular shaped petal and in the middle it contains a cluster of what seems to be seeds or it’s reproductive organs. It also has a distinct starfish outline with a pink center.
