Easily the largest dragonfly I have ever seen. Laying on a natural puddle of water springing out of the side of a trail at approximate 3500 feet elevation. Could this be a Giant Damer? Phone pic -- wish I would have included something for scale!

Monitoring a covey of approximately 50 quail during partial solar eclipse. 30 minutes prior to the eclipse, most of the quail were under cover of scrub bushes, with 4 remaining above cover -- see pic. 10 minutes prior the eclipse, the remaining 4 quail also went under the bushes and stayed there for next 20 minutes (10 minutes past maximum). At 10 minutes after maximum a single quail emerged, and about 20 minutes after the maximum the entire covey of about 50 emerged and flew up the hillside.
