The first photo shows a male with an obvious interrupted humeral stripe. The second photo is from what seems to be a female seen nearby, for comparison, with a less obviously interrupted but still distinct humeral stripe. Also note that the abdominal segments S8-9 are almost completely dark, unlike in the Eastern Forktail

For purpose of hopefully future comparisons with C. humistrata, the second picture shows a seed with transverse ridges barely visible and the last two pictures show that the styles are only bifurcated to about 1/3 of their total length.

C. humistrata has styles divided to half their length and seeds without ridges.

Here is a great picture of C. humistrata for future reference:

I was hoping this might be a blue-form female Powdered Dancer. And the iNat AI gives Powdered Dancer as the first suggestion. But I found the following reference which notes that Powdered Dancers have two cells below the stigma of the wings. This damsel has only a single cell below the stigma.

This keys best to R. conglomeratus in Vascular Flora of Illinois. Flora of the Chicago Region makes no mention of R. conglomeratus. In Flora of North America, R. conglomeratus and R. sangineus key out very closely, however R. conglomeratus is noted as having 3 tubercles per fruit and leaves subtending most of the whorls of the inflorescences.

I've seen plants like this a number of times in the area. They consistently grow in moderately disturbed mesic to wet-mesic shady areas. In the past, I had thought these might be R. triangulivalvis. But that species also has fruits with 3 tubercles. And its leaves have more undulate margins, cuneate leaf bases, and the leaf surfaces are smoother and more lustrous.

I also thought these might be depauperate shade-grown R. crispus. But that species has fruit with wider valves. The valves here are longer than wide and the tubercles are nearly as wide as the valves. The inflorescences are also much sparser than in R. crispus
