On Lycium at edge of marsh.
I couldn’t find much info on C. californica… but from what I saw on a herbarium packet the apothecia have a purple KOH reaction? This seems more red pink which matches C stanfordensis.

Growing on rock under fast running water in creek.
Deeply concave ovate leaves with obtuse to widely acute apex.
The cells are very incrassate and the costa does not usually reach apex, sometimes percurrent, which seems spot on for this species and not much else looks like that.
The color is not red, but I think it might turn red as it is exposed to the air as the creek level lowers? The habitat and brown color pointed me towards Plagiobryoides renauldii/flabelliformis… but the cells seem way too incrassate to be a Plagiobryoides and I couldnt find any tubers although there were some strange non-tuber structures I found among the rhizoids.
Features I’m not sold on are that it dries more catenulate rather than strongly julaceous.
It does have a nice metallic shine to it though that reminds me of other Imbribryum.
