Walking down this path ("the ridge"), I passed a runner, a couple walking their dog, a family feeding chickadees, and a couple... of Mallards, walking down the path just like everyone else.

For years - decades even - I have seen dog owners brush their dogs and smear clumps of the fur around parks, claiming that birds might use it for nesting. This is the first and only time I have seen a bird gathering dog fur.

Obviously acclimated to feeding, this nuthatch followed me for a while. It also perched on my camera and my hat.
