Búho Cornudo (Bubo virginianus)Observ.
selwynqDescripción
First observed flight today - and it's the smallest owl. Tentative but well controlled flight into the neighboring tree and back again a few minutes later. Other siblings observed and flapped wings but no others tried.
Unfortunately, one owl was found at the bottom of the tree a few days ago probably falling out of the nest. It was left alone and managed to make its way to a hedge. Was not found today so its fate remains uncertain.

Four owlets confirmed - all visible in this piciure. In contrast to last years batch, these four and not as vocal and hardly a squeak from them. Vigorously wing flapping and lots of hopping/flying but have not yet seen them make it to another tree. Interesingly, the smallest one seems the most agile and mobile at moment.
