Erythranthe alsinoides
Fruiting Calyces: Lobes pronounced, strongly angled with corky ribs, and lobes spreading.
Corollas: Pale pink to rose pink or purple to magenta; throat sometimes yellow. Tube-throats are 8–12 mm long, and limbs expanded 7–12 mm.
Fruiting Pedicels: Longer than subtending leaves, ranging from 10–23 mm.
Leaf Blade: Margins distinctly lobed, lobes pronounced.
Erythranthe nasuta
Fruiting Calyces: Lobes reduced, margins subtruncate.
Corollas: Pale pink to rose pink or purple to magenta. Tube-throats are 5–9 mm long, and limbs expanded 5–6 mm.
Fruiting Pedicels: Shorter than subtending leaves, ranging from 5–15 mm.
Leaf Blade: Margins reduced, lobes less pronounced compared to alsinoides.
Key Differences
Fruiting Calyces: Alsionides has pronounced lobes with corky ribs and is strongly angled. Nasuta has reduced lobes with subtruncate margins.
Corolla Characteristics: Tube-throats and limb sizes differ slightly, with alsinoides having longer tube-throats and expanded limbs compared to nasuta.
Fruiting Pedicels: Alsionides has longer pedicels compared to nasuta.
Leaf Blade Margins: Alsionides has distinctly lobed margins, while nasuta has less pronounced lobes.
Tube-throats Length: Alsionides - 8–12 mm; Nasuta - 5–9 mm
Differences in main red mark (smaller, rounder in E. nasuta), leaf margins (more prominently toothed, jagged in E. nasuta).
