Our first siting of sphinx moths in our native garden bed, feeding at dusk on a Licorice Hyssop. Both Aspen and evening primrose plants near by. Not entirely sure if the species ID is accurate, but confident it is a species of sphinx moth.

This poor little bird flew into our window this afternoon. I was unfortunately present when it happened. After consulting a birder friend, we suspect it is a bunting, probably Lazuli because we did not see any streaking on the throat.

This fox squirrel was very active before and after the eclipse. It hung out in the top of the tree during the eclipse. 30 min before and after it was scampering around the trunk and hanging out closer to the ground. There were more people present in the area during the eclipse than before/after which may also have played a role in the squirrel's activity level.
