I have a bachelor's degree in Geography (Environmental Studies) with a minor in Biology and a master's degree in Geographical and Sustainability Sciences (Human-Environment Interactions), both from the University of Iowa. I have always been interested in nature, but after discovering eBird in late 2009 I began keeping track of my birding observations and quickly became an avid birder. I'm hoping iNaturalist will be the catalyst that helps me to more actively learn about the other animals and plants I encounter.
