I am an urban naturalist and budding community conservation professional. Nature and cities can and should go hand-in hand. As a child raised on the Portage Escarpment, part of the Western Allegheny Plateau, I grew up surrounded by urban stream valleys that would tumble down into the plain of Lake Erie on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio. My infatuation with urban ecology continues to this day, and I spend much time working and playing where the woods end and the neighborhoods begin.
