My family has owned property in Hickman County Tennessee for over 50 years and I now reside part time on it. As a child my father and I challenged each other to learn all the trees native to our land. I learned a number of the herptiles and butterflies as a child, and as an adult have learned a number of the birds and flowers. I have passed along to my children a love of walking in the woods with our eyes open to the natural world.
