I was employed by SANParks (South African National Parks) and for 22 years I coordinated research involving aquatic ecosystems and small animal ecology in the Savanna Unit, covering 15 National Parks (including Addo-, Kalahari- and Kruger NP). Currently I am an environmental consultant in South Africa and also worked on biodiversity assignments in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Swaziland. I am a keen birder; enjoy snorkeling and identifying marine fish, enthusiastic about biodiversity and an all-round nature devotee. In my free time I enjoy doing art, photography and compiling a photographic catalogue of all biota I encountered during the past decade.
