Although I have a Biology degree, I work as a data manager. I've been photographing nature (including lots of bugs/spiders) for decades. Recently learned about iNaturalist and since I had just bought a new camera, I decided to upload any new observations seen with the new camera. I usually only keep good photographs, but decided to upload if "good enough". Currently focused on only a few locations. Once I don't see anything new - time to move on. I have no skills at taxonomy - just patience and google along with bug guide and now iNaturalist. I'm very pleased with the suggestions I get from iNaturalist, except the lack of range criteria. I sometimes get suggestion for a species only found on East Coast, but the location information shows Pacific NW. If you want to meet up for a short photo trip, let me know. I can't do long trips due to foot pain, but it's always fun to get out with a camera even if for a limited time.
