I earned my Ph.D. at Harvard University in Dr. Brian Farrell's lab. My study system includes the pine sawyer beetles (Cerambycidae: Monochamus) and their host conifers. My research deals with the systematics of this genus worldwide, biogeography of populations in montane western North America and determining if hostplants have spurred speciation in the group. I am broadly interested in the relationships between plants and insects and beetle systematics.
