I'm a book-dealer (and hoarder) by day, so I'm always, in a sense, surrounded by the souls of trees. (Morbid as that sounds.)
Most my observations are taken around the Walden-like space I am privileged to call home.

Guardian of (among many other animals) a wild troop of Vervet monkeys. You'll see I find it hard to resist sharing their antics.
They are a part of my small family, and I will fight to protect the wellbeing of these often-misunderstood primates as best I can.

I am here to learn about and honour all the sentients that lived here before I did. And to live in symbiotic harmony with those that still do, and those that still will.

Also, this is one of the best (and healthiest) ways to escape the absurd, exhausting and painful world of 'humanity' that I've found yet.

I have a special fondness for fungi - but I'd be the first to admit that I am here to learn and am not an expert.
Just remember,
"All fungi are edible. Some fungi are only edible once."
(Thanks, Terry Pratchett.)
