Trained in the Dept. of Horticultural Science at NC State, the plant world is a second career for me. I started in horticulture in 2003, and worked several short stints: at Niche Gardens, with Lindsey Landscape & Design, and an internship at Sarah P. Duke Gardens. I started at Hoffman Nursery in Rougemont, NC in 2007 and have worked there ever since. The nursery specializes in ornamental and native grasses, so that's where a big chunk of my plant knowledge lies. I'm also a native plant enthusiast, preferring to work with them when I can. I'm Marketing Director at the nursery, which gives me many opportunities to explore and learn and to interact with professionals from a wide range of plant-related disciplines.
