Greg Concepcion

Reformed academic. Born and raised in Maryland, I spent 5 years diving in the Pacific before eventually landing in the Golden State, California.
I earned my PhD in Zoology with a Marine Biology focus in the Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology (EECB) program at the University of Hawaii, Manoa. I've since left academia and work as a software engineer for Pacific Biosciences in Menlo Park, CA where I work on large genome assembly.
When I'm not working I'm either fishing or running trails with my pooch and looking for cool mushrooms and other flora/fauna along the way.
