I am a field biologist specializing in vernal pool habitats and have extensive experience with the wildlife of vernal pools focusing on amphibian, reptile, and invertebrate taxa of the northeastern US. In 2000, I co-authored A Field Guide to the Animals of Vernal Pools, published by the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife, which is currently in its third printing. In 2009, I co-authored A Field Guide to the Dragonflies and Damselflies of Massachusetts. I speak regularly on the topic of vernal pool ecology and protection, lead walks for the general public, and continue to explore these wonderful habitats.

I am a Senior Ecologist with the BSC Group, Inc and was formerly the Conservation Director with the Walden Woods Project in Lincoln, MA. I spent 10 years as an ecologist with the MA Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program. I hold an M.S. from UMass Amherst and am a certified Professional Wetland Scientist.
