Amateur naturalist (full time built environment professional) having spent a lifetime immersed in, and fascinated by, our natural world. Relocated from Cape Town, RSA to London, UK, in June 2022. Passionate about wild places and urban ecology, keen amateur photographer, and always seeking to learn more about our natural environment.
IDs range from broad classifications for Southern Africa, getting more specific with flora and fauna of the Western Cape. Birds are strongest. Very open (and eager) for discussions on IDs - I'm not a professional so would only progress an ID beyond family or genus if I'm very sure, and would welcome steers from those who are more knowledgeable.
Pics are taken with a variety of cameras - ranging from Nikon D5500 with various lenses, to Nikon W300 for underwater and macro shots. Occasionally iPhone, if I don't have a camera to hand.
