Update, 23 July

We have added the last of the bird data with 28 species observed on the day, and we were told that this is a new record at Dunedin Botanic Garden.

We have also added 110 lichen observations. Of special note would be the new genus Notoparmelia of the family Parmeliaceae. There is a referenced article in the description of the observation https://inaturalist.nz/observations/1009714.

Still some Bioblitz data sets to upload including many more lichen species (David Galloway tells us an estimate of 200 different taxa in total were observed at the Dunedin Botanic Garden).

Thanks to all those who took part on the day and especially to those who provided us with their valuable observations to begin this hopefully ongoing project.

Could you sign alien taxa added to the project, probably adding another signation of problematic invasive ones in case?

Thanks Erwin, helpful ideas. Are there other NatureWatch projects where this is done well, so we can see this in action? Particularly for "problematic invasive" species, as it would be good to follow a standard method (ie use an appropriate NatureWatch field).
