Seeking out Trees

Spring 2020 is here! While social distancing is a must, there's plenty of room in the great outdoors to accommodate nature exploration. The main thrust of Trees of Uxbridge project is simply to identify some 100 sites that are accessible to the public where known species can be observed and enjoyed by Uxbridge citizens and our visitors. As an initiative started by an educator and amateur naturalist it is our hope that this project will build a resource enabling young and old to become familiar with native Massachusetts trees as an entryway to discovering more local wildlife. That said, there are some extremely interesting trees within town limits that don't meet this qualification. For our non-native trees our objective is to highlight biodiversity. Trees are flowering in great multitudes currently. Great images of inflorescences along with bark and growth structure would be excellent along with initial identifications. Thanks for your involvement! Enjoy your travels and by all means invite friends along for our sylvan adventures...
