While Leucoagaricus (La.) and Leucocoprinus (Lc.) are intermixed and polyphyletic without the inclusion of other genera, La. badhamii does not group well phylogenetically with other Leucocoprinus spp. such as Lc. birnbaumii and Lc. cepistipes. While the bootstraps values don't inspire too much confidence, there is indication that La. badhamii belongs to a clade only composed of species currently defined within Leucoagaricus. This clade's sister clade may include both the Leucocoprinus spp. and some additional Leucoagaricus spp. Either way, we have both synonyms on iNat, which needs to be changed. La. badhamii seems to be accepted and used in most current literature, as well as in secondary taxonomy sources.
