Epiphytic and terrestrial.
Very wide range of habitats, from 1,000 to 3,500 m asl. Although it may possibly occur in lower lying areas in Suriname. The taxon has been collected in mountain rainforest, Paramo, cloud forest, shrubby secondary vegetation, disturbed roadsides, Matorral and rock ledges and steep rocky slopes. This orchid has been found in disturbed primary forest, secondary forest, on roadsides, in disturbed thickets and disturbed secondary shrub forests, and this suggests some ability to persist and regenerate after anthropogenic disturbances
