Ceramium is a genus of red algae (or Rhodophyta). It is a large genus with at least 15 species in the British Isles.
Description 4
Non hollow thallus, that can be epithetic but can also be a part of turf.
No enlargements on branches that are cylindrical.
Corticated bands with branches that do not curve inward.
Nodal bands several cells wide, but not in longitudinal rows
