Graphiphor augur

Graphiphora augur

A very drab moth, Often missing lines and orbicular spot. However, the posterior reniform black spot is usually conserved. Even with beaten up moths, that spot is still visible.

Indeed, I feel that the black outlines of the reniform and orbicular are almost always visible, and their exact positions are pretty much invariable. Between that, the lack of much other patterning, and the size (a little larger than average for a "noc"), and wing shape (rather broad for a noctuid), these are usually identifiable.
