Would love opinions as to the cause of damage to this wetland vegetation - rabbits; rats, and/or pukeko are the most likely contenders.
Rabbit fur was observed within the wetland, and pukeko were present. The majority of the damage had occurred to the Eleocharis acuta, which had been uprooted on a large scale throughout the wetland.

Found growing in a wetland alongside Isachne globosa, Eleocharis acuta, Isolepis prolifera and a range of exotic grasses.
It doesn’t seem to appear in the NIWA macrophyte key and I’m not convinced it’s a Ludwigia. No flowers were present and unfortunately no photos were taken in situ.
