Two of these bats were tucked into the outside aspect of the folds of a deck umbrella. Lots of poop on the table beneath them. So, we opened the umbrella to see what was in there. This bat and the other (on the other side of the umbrella) were hanging out, literally. They didn't flee, however, and appeared to be shaking. Probably woke them from their sleep. We closed the umbrella and haven't checked back on them since.

I should probably have a conversation with the group of dudes who live in this house about securing their recyclables.

This bear looked to be of a younger age. Maybe not much older than a year or two? I don't really know much about their growth rate other than their ears stay the same size throughout their lives (At least what I've heard).

This is the most Mule Deer that I've seen together so far at Lake Tahoe. And, it doesn't appear that there's a male among them.

At this point, I can't really say if any of these deer are related to the family of three I've previously observed.

If anyone knows if there's a significance of a black-tipped tail versus a white-tipped tail on Coyotes, please let me know. Thanks!

I believe this to be the same family of three that I observed on August 15, 2020.

The older of these two looks like it has flies on its face. I didn't get a shot of the third deer, just these two younger ones.

I don't know anything about hornets and yellowjackets, but I assume these are Aerial Yellowjackets since their nest is in a tree. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The nest was approximately 40 feet up in a Jefferey Pine tree.

A very cool observation. I believe my first time ever watching this regurgitation-type of feeding process.

First two pics are of the mother, while the third is of the father.

And I believe my September 9, 2020, observation is of one of the two young ones as I witnessed it only 20 meters away from this nesting tree. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/59329003

I believe this to be a juvenile from a June 25, 2020, observation. I've been periodically checking in at this specific location, and earlier this summer I observed adult flickers feeding their young (in the area).

The tail feathers don't look as rounded as I would expect for a Cooper's, but this bird definitely looked more of a Crow-sized bird (than a Robin-sized Sharp-Shinned). Also, these photos show its "long" head rather than it being tucked in (like a Sharp-shinned). I could be wrong on all of this, so correct me if that's the case.

And, I apologize for wasting this opportunity to get some nicer photos. The smoky sky backdrop was challenging enough. But, more critical was the fact that right before this beauty flew into frame I was shooting landscape shots at a slow shutter speed. I neglected to increase the shutter speed appropriately for the raptor. Amateur move on my part ;)

Geez. I finally found this gentian.

For whatever reason I just couldn't find a specimen of it all last year in spite of looking where others had previously identified it. And, this time only after I saw someone else post an obs of it just the other day.

Now that I've actually found some examples, I'll probably see them all over the place. haha.

Flycatchers are a total mystery to me, so I'll leave this at the genus level for now.

That said, I lean toward a Hammond's due to its longer-looking primary projects, yellowish hue to the side of its belly, distinct eye ring, and the fact it was hanging out in a forested area filled with Red Firs.

I'm not familiar with vocalizations of Flycatchers, so that's not an option for IDing (until I learn them!).
