Escaped cultivates mint growing on a gravel channel bar of the San Lorenzo River the last two years. It smells and tastes like spearmint. Anyone know for sure which species this might be?

Injured wing, maybe a bite? When approached, the bird walked towards the water and eventually paddled away. I didn't report it since I didn't have a way to safely capture and transport the bird to the wildlife rehab.

I originally thought this was a harbor seal, but I think it's a juvenile elephant seal after looking more closely at the photos. Please correct the ID if wrong.
This seal was on San Carlos Beach and was acting unusual, shaking and twitching, and not using its left front fin. Reported to the Marine Mammal Center
