This rather large, blue fly was hanging out on some juniper needles. Has a distinctive band on its lower body which may assist in identification. I am no expert, but I think it is a blue bottlefly.

Silly guy was eating the seed that birds had dropped beneath the feeder. He comes quite frequently, and sometimes I catch him on the feeder itself! As you can see from this, somewhat comical, series of pictures, he was eating, saw me, proceeded to try to hide behind grass, nearly fell asleep, saw me again, grabbed some food, and ran! All jokes aside, a cute little critter came to visit.
