I was doing a Beach Watch survey and was on the return leg documenting a dead Common Murre when 3 river otters a short distance ahead drew my attention as they walked into the shallow water of Tamales Bay. We were both in the open and as I went for my camera they turned and ran directly off the beach into cover.
This is the third time I have seen a river otter or evidence of presence.
The most recent observation I submitted was for 9/5/2017.
