Mexican Nature Photographer, Biologist, bartender and hiker/mountain biker. I'm the 5th generation of Naturalist's in my family. I spent my youth collecting butterflies, beetles, shell's, rock's, sand's and much more. I studied Biology at UNAM, Industrial design at IBERO, Comercial Photography at KODAK, photojournalism at Nacho Lopez, and an AS in computer animation at Miami Dade College. I'Naturalist has become a way to connect back with people interested in my observations in the wild, as well as a unvaluable learning source. I shot mainly with an old Nikon digital single lens camera with old school analog F mount lenses (no telemetry, nor auto-focus). I use my phone for geo-locations and occasionally fast identifications. I'm currently focus in documenting the flora and fauna on the Chichinautzin natural area where I live, bike & hike.
The man on my profile picture is my great grandfather Salvador De La Torre Y Huerta, Cuban Naturalist and profesor at University of Havana, Cuba. Also, brother of famed Cuban naturalist and malacologist Don Carlos De La Torre y Huerta. And father of Salvador Luis de la Torre Callejas (Famed Lepidopterist, enthomologist, and profesor emeritus at Universidad de la Havana, Cuba) to whom I own my interest in nature, science and exploration.
