Ginkgo

Ginkgo (scientific name: Ginkgo biloba L.) is a plant of the Ginkgo family and the genus Ginkgo. The arbor is 40 meters high and the diameter at breast height can reach 4 meters; the bark of the young tree is shallow and longitudinally cracked, and the bark of the big tree is gray-brown, deeply divided and rough; the crown of young and mature trees is conical, and the old is wide ovoid. The leaves are fan-shaped, with long stalks, light green, glabrous, with many forked juxtaposed veins, 5-8 cm wide at the top, often with wavy nicks on short branches, often 2-lobed on long branches, broadly wedge-shaped at the base. The cones are dioecious, unisexual, born in the axils of the scaly leaves at the top of the short branches, in clusters; the male cones are catkins inflorescence-like, drooping. The seeds have long stalks, drooping, and are often elliptical, obovate, ovoid, or nearly spherical

The Tagetes is located on the phylogenic tree under tagetes, Asteraceae, dicotyledoneae, magnoliophyta.
All the observations we did are angiosperms. One adaptation they have in common is that they have flowers and fruits.Their seeds are enclosed by the pericarps, and the flowers are composed of calyx, corolla, stamen group, pistil group, etc. These are the main traits that distinguishes angiosperms from gymnosperms.
One unique adaptation that Lycoris radiata has is that their leaves and flowers will never appear at the same time. The leaves will all wither before they bloom. So Lycoris radiata is used to metaphorize people who love each other but cannot meet.

The garlic chive (or Allium tuberosum) was located on the phylogenic tree under flowering plants. It is a part of the onion family and it is related to onions and garlics (it resembles garlics more than chives). All of the observations done this week are flowering plants (angiosperms), and one adaptation that they have in common is having stems. Stems have many important functions. They provide support for leaves, flowers and fruits and keep the leaves in the light. Transport of fluids between the roots and the shoots in the xylem and phloem is done through stems. Stems also store nutrients and produce new living tissues. One unique adaptation that treasure flowers (Genus Gazania) have is that they are able to close their flowers heads. They especially look for sunlight and when they are in the shade or when it is cloudy, they close their flower heads.
