This project is a partnership that is looking at the changes in the phenology of fruiting plants and their relationships with fall migrating songbirds and arthropods.
Schoodic Institute and Acadia National Park have partnered with Blue Hill Heritage Trust, Island Heritage Trust, Downeast Lakes Land Trust, Fields Pond Audubon Center, Cater Nature Preserve, Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge, Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust, and Frenchman Bay Conservancy. At each of these locations we have created a Phenology Walk using the Nature's Notebook app to start understanding the phenology of certain plants at each location.
This inaturalist project will allow us to start looking at the birds and arthropods at each of our locations and the timing of when they appear.
